This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst continuing to be two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.


Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.


Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowance and hours.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role

This role is being introduced as part of the wider temporary Equip Interim Business Systems Team, ensuring that the relationship between the Equip system and the functional areas maintained to the highest standard. This is a temporary role to assist with the implementation of the Equip System across all three Forces, ensuring that all Equip Service Management processed are adhered to. This role is being introduced prior to the launch of the Equip system as the role holder will be heavily involved in the setup this function, managing and leading a team of Senior Managers.

Key Responsibilities

The role holder will be responsible for the Line Management of Senior Managers, leading and mentoring them as well as ensuring that they manage the day to day delivery of the service. As well as daily Line Management responsibilities, the successful applicant will be required to liaise with Equip users on a regular basis to understand and rectify any issues, produce reports KPI and SLA reports and act as the escalation point if these are not met and sign off all Equip Service Management processes, ensuring these are fit for purpose.

Skills & Experience

Excellent problem solving skills are required as the role holder will act as an escalation point for complex queries and complaints from internal and external stakeholders which will also require strong interpersonal skills. Previous Line Manger experience is essential and excellent IT skills with a good general knowledge of computer networks, software, hardware and security. Extensive influencing skills are required in order to resolve disputes and negotiate programs of work.


Starting salary will be dependent on relevant skills and experience.
