This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst continuing to be two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.


Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.


Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowance and hours.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role

This role is being introduced as part of the wider temporary Equip Interim Business Systems Team. This is a temporary role to assist with the implementation of the Equip System across all three Forces, embedding security assurance best practise. This role is being introduced prior to the launch of the Equip system as the role holder will be heavily involved in the setup of security assurance, ensuring that Force directive and standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

The role holder will be responsible for providing continuous security assurance across all three Forces for the Equip system, conducting audit reviews and ensuring any security breaches are dealt with appropriately. On a regular basis, the role holder will be required to provide expert advice regarding protective security, ensuring Equip operates within the relevant legislative framework and national security guidance.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful for the role, the applicant will need to display a high level of quality assurance knowledge, testing and security risks associated with various infrastructure. Excellent interpersonal skill and the ability to challenge will be required as the role holder will be working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across all three Forces and third parties.


Starting salary will be dependent on relevant skills and experience.
