It all started in the summer of 2000, on a trip to New York. Two guys, with a love of IT, shooting pool and talking about starting their own business.

The pair were keen to use their backgrounds in IT to set up a new company with a mission to help people learn IT skills, quickly. Traditional training options were time consuming (often taking years) and tech was moving fast – it was taking people too long to learn the skills they needed to be successful in the workplace, and it was costing companies a lot. There was an opportunity to offer something different to the market.

Training that focused on accelerating the learning process. Training that immersed the learner in their subject matter. Training that delivered the qualifications individuals, and businesses alike, needed - fast.

Move forward a year, founders Stefano Calpado and Robert Chapman had launched their first training course and were welcoming their first students. By the end of their first operating year, they had trained 63 students and brought in a respectable £230,000 in revenue.

Since then Firebrand has grown to be the leader in Accelerated Learning, employing hundreds of people across the globe. Last year the business accelerated the careers of 7,166 students and has grown to become a £25m business.

The focus was, and still is today, to make a difference to the lives of people by giving them the skills they need, quickly. We exist to create growth for individuals and the companies they work for and we are passionate about delivering this with best-in-class customer service.

Whilst the Firebrand today may look a little different from its beginnings as a two man start-up, we are passionate about maintaining the core values that built the company. And it is these values that are reflected in the Firebrand Code.
