Our application process

What you should expect from our recruitment process

  • 1. Online application

You can search for vacancies across UCL and apply online through the UCL Jobsite. Our portal allows you to save and return to your application, and once you submit your application you will receive an email acknowledgement.

Top tip: Read the full Job Description and Person Specification and make sure your application explains how your experience matches this.

  • 2. Shortlisting

Your application will be reviewed against the criteria outlined in the Person Specification by a UCL selection panel; and applicants who best match the criteria will be shortlisted for interview. Following the selection panel's shortlisting process you will receive notification on the outcome of your application.

  • 3. Interview

If you’re shortlisted you'll be invited to attend an interview with a UCL selection panel. This may include undertaking any selection tests – for example giving a presentation.

You may be asked to bring in any other relevant documents (e.g. qualification certificates if required for the role).

  • 4. Offer and Terms and Conditions

If you have been successful, you will receive an email with your conditional offer of employment. Once this is accepted you can agree your start date. We'll carry out the pre-employment screening (including reference and other checks such as DBS if applicable).

Once the checks have been completed we will issue your updated UCL Terms and Conditions for you to electronically sign, which should be returned before your start date.

  • 5. Start

You will receive your updated job details ahead of starting your new role and on Day 1 you'll receive full support to continue your UCL journey.
