The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
Violence Towards Women and Girls.
This is an exciting opportunity to support your community with the organisation and co-ordination of activities to tackle Violence Towards Women and Girls. You will work closely with community links and partner agencies to develop a programme of work on this agenda.
This role is on a Secondment/Fixed Term Contract basis until March 2024
Key Responsibilities
Key areas of work will include:
• Preparation, co-ordination and maintenance of project plans, reports, Home Office financial returns and documentation linked to the programme ensuring milestones are met and any risks captured and monitored.
• Development and maintenance of strong working relationships with the community and partners to ensure they are informed and supported in the implementation of key identified deliverables including a range of products such as, educational campaigns, Safe Spaces, organising training to night time economy staff, community consultation.
• To gain an understanding and explore areas for development and opportunities to work more collaboratively with other agencies developing best practice models.
• To offer advice and guidance to the community and businesses in the identified areas to assist with the implementation of the deliverables on key preventative actions and tools as identified in the Safer Streets bid.
• To initiate and arrange meetings with key community groups and the local business community organisations to ensure implementation, sustainability and ownership of prevention measures is are considered at all times.
• To attend the Safer Streets Programme Board to update on current work and report on primary risks, threats and opportunities in relation to the programme of work identifying solutions as necessary.

Key skills required to be successful in this role include:
• Experience of working with voluntary, statutory, social or community groups.
• Proven ability to influence and persuade agencies in their support to help resolve problems and issues.
• Experience of dealing directly with members of the public.
• Experience of achieving objectives by advising, persuading and working within multi-agency partnerships.
• Experience in project management/coordination.
• Strong decision making skills.
• Excellent time and task management skills using a pro-active, self-disciplined yet flexible approach to deliver to committed deadlines with minimum management direction.
• Able to demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and demonstrate a high level of self-management, motivation, drive and determination.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities, negotiate solutions and resolve problems, using creativity and innovation.
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations and to use tact, tenacity, diplomacy, initiative and independent judgment within policy, procedural, and legal guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
