The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
To provide excellent executive support to the Sussex Resilience Forum (SRF) in planning and preparedness activities as well as the SRF's governance arrangements. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a busy team which works across all aspects of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 in a pan-Sussex multi-agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Working with the Executive Delivery Manager to set objectives aligned with the National Resilience Standards for Local Resilience Forums and other strategies;
Facilitating the delivery of a robust SRF Governance system and support arrangements;
Managing the Sussex Resilience Forum inbox and incoming queries;
Updating and maintaining Resilience Direct as a key repository for SRF documentation;
Organising training and exercising events including SRF conference;
Supporting the Executive and Delivery Group(s) and SRF Working Groups;
Carrying out proactive horizon scanning pan-Sussex including the coordination of SCRIP multi-agency meetings and escalation of risks, where appropriate;
Providing support in the event of an incident;
Undertake research, investigation and produce reports when tasked by Executive Delivery Group Chairs, SRF Executive Delivery Manager and Capability work streams.
Skills & Experience
Educated to A level or equivalent experience.
Proven experience of working in a multi-agency or partnership environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of supervision and management with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work unsupervised in a multi-agency environment and coordinate work streams within the working groups.
Ability to produce concise, comprehensive reports including the ability to review and update plans.
Proven ability to manage, plan and prioritise own workload.
IT literate in Microsoft programs, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Highly motivated and able to develop a co-operative working relationship with others.
Able to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills at different levels within an organisation and externally to partners and organisations.
Ability to understand new ideas and concepts and to assess their strategic value and practical implications.
Able to conduct research and analysis to produce complex management reports.
