Key Responsibilities

As an engaging and enthusiastic surveillance operative you will be deployed within Surrey and Sussex, and where the need arises, within the South East Region. Your main role will be to covertly monitor subjects who are actively involved in Serious and Organised Crime. You will gather intelligence and evidence on those subjects to help prove their involvement in those offences. Our operations are often protracted and you must be prepared to work long and unsocial hours, sometimes away from home. You will need to be flexible as you will need to react to fast moving investigations throughout both forces and the South East Region. You will be an expert in your area, being able to offer tactical knowledge and advice to senior officers in fast moving investigations. You will be expected to form part of the on call Rota for the South East Region on call Crime in Action team and respond to call outs within your force areas.

Skills & Experience

To be in possession of a current Q1 (Level 1) surveillance licence To be in possession of a current Police Advanced car licence. To be in possession of a current Police Advanced motorcycle licence. (If applying for the motorcyclist role.) To be in possession of a current Q2/Q200 Surveillance Motorcyclist licence. (If applying for the motorcyclist role.) To be in possession of a Vetting level of SC or above Has attended a national/local log and disclosure course Has a good working knowledge of relevant guidance within the ACPO Surveillance Manual 2006, including RIPA and associate authorities.
