The Role & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to undertake a 12 month placement within the Office of the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner. The ideal candidate will be studying a politics, law or business related qualification and will be able to demonstrate effective research and written communication skills.

As part of the placement, the candidate will have the opportunity to engage with multiple partners across varies agencies, both on a regional and national level, play a supporting role within the different work streams across the office, gain a broad awareness of the role the Police & Crime Commissioner holds and develop a greater insight into Sussex Police.

The successful candidate will be required to support the Commissioner and her team with a variety of projects that concern key stakeholders in the Justice System through primary and secondary research, presentations and written briefings.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following skills:

  • Good communication and problem solving skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work in a busy environment and be able to prioritise work effectively
  • Self motivated and able to work both individually and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office
