The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
The Strategic Insights Team is looking for two senior analysts to build on our innovate work in deriving insights from the force’s data, designing new data analytics functionality and undertaking and writing the annual Force Management Statement (FMS).
The two roles will work closely together, but will have different areas of focus: One for innovation, demand and data-driven insight. The other, to support the force’s business planning cycle and to lead on the FMS.
We are looking for talented analysts with experience of interpreting police data who want to move into high-profile roles that will have a significant impact on the future direction of the force. You do not need a specific technical skillset, but you will need to be data literate, have proven analytical experience and be passionate about improving policing through data insight.
The ability to think for yourself and be constructively challenging are vital, as is the ability to produce written work of the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Understanding demand is key for Sussex Police to support decision-making and ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
The post holder will be the lead for demand across Sussex responsible for providing insight to help support and drive strategic decision making and identify opportunities for innovation.
They will lead a small team of analysts/support who will be responsible for the day to day demand reporting and business planning for Chief Officers on behalf of the Head of Corporate Development (CDD).
To lead on the design and build of reports using Power BI and drive best practice across the team.

Some remote working will be available but there is an expectation that you will work in person from HQ, Lewes as required.
