The Role

Then come and join us at Surrey Safety Camera unit in Surrey Police. At our offices based near Guildford we are working to reduce the number of collisions and as a result casualties and fatalities on the roads in Surrey.

Key Responsibilities

A stimulating role has arisen within the Camera Technician team at the Surrey Safety Camera Unit. Our technicians contribute to the detection and enforcement of camera detected offences as part of the Force commitment to the Surrey Road Safety Partnership.

Reporting to the Technicians Team Leader you will operate, install and retrieve the equipment used in the enforcement of camera detected speed, red light and red x offences. You will also view the photographic and video evidence from activations and prepare statements for court where you will attend to give specialist evidence when required.

Skills & Experience

You will be a team player with a methodical mind and the proven ability to accurately analyse large quantities of data. Strong IT skills are essential along with an eye for detail, and previous experience in the use of computer databases for administrative purposes would be an advantage.

You must be able to work in a calm and professional manner to meet strict legal deadlines. Comprehensive training will be provided for you to become proficient in the use of camera enforcement technology as well as Police and departmental computer applications, printing and mailing technology.

Whilst no formal technical qualifications are required you must have an aptitude for operating equipment and excellent problem-solving skills. Full training and ongoing support will be given in all technical aspects of the role.

It is essential to be the holder of a full valid driving licence.
