The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen to join the Criminal Justice team as a Restorative Service Delivery Officer. This varied role will work closely alongside internal and external colleagues to deliver Restorative Justice and Restorative Interventions, developing successful working relationships, ensuring accurate and data-compliant record management and effectively identifying suitable cases in order to drive performance, support Victims and reduce re-offending. This role supports the varying demands shared between the force and the RJ Partnership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proactively maintain a credible skill set in matters relating to Restorative Practices and Out of Court Disposal, being able to develop skills as required for the role.
2. Provide case management, case supervision, case facilitation, as directed by the team manager.
3. Manage a delivery area ‘portfolio’ to support the core work streams that underpin service delivery (such as training, performance, referral generation).
4. Develop and maintain successful working relationships with operational representatives of all relevant agencies and services concerned with the delivery of Restorative Service.
5. Be an accessible point of contact for the service for internal and external partners. Providing advice and guidance and actively engaging in shaping best practice.
6. Ensure accurate and data complaint records are kept of all interactions with participants.
7. Ensure that service users receive the highest standard of care and support throughout their journey and ensure that victim and participant care is at the forefront of delivery.
8. Willingness to promote and raise awareness of the Restorative service at public events, contribute to internal and external communications such as newsletters, police briefings and work in different partnership premises.
9. Actively identify risks, threats, and opportunities with regards to Restorative and OOC activities across the county and advise the Service Delivery Manager.
Skills & Experience
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent by experience
A qualified Restorative Justice Facilitator practitioner or willing to receive training to become a qualified Restorative Justice Facilitator’
Knowledge and understanding of Criminal Justice, Restorative Services and Out of Court Disposals
Experience of working face to face with offenders and victims
Good IT skills, proven ability to use Microsoft excel and databases
Ability to become experienced in various software including ECINs, Niche, PNC
Ability to work without direct supervision whilst under pressure
Ability to balance conflicting demands and work to deadlines
Excellent time and task management skills
Excellent oral and written communications including report writing and presentation
High levels of attention to detail Excellent negotiating and influencing skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
