Vacancy Information

Variety. Challenge. Opportunity. If you fancy a job that mixes the ordinary with the highly extraordinary and definitely isn’t your average 9-5 desk job then policing could be for you.

We are looking for new trainee officers to start training with us from late 2019/early 2020.

The Role

As a constable no two days will be the same. Your day could start by being called to a road traffic collision, followed by a search for a missing person and then supporting a victim of crime. Your night shift could be spent on burglary patrols or patrolling a busy nightlife centre to ensure party goers are safe and well.

One thing’s for sure, you certainly won’t be bored!

Policing is challenging but also highly rewarding; you will be making a difference to the community and to the lives of those within it. Every day when you put on your uniform you will be making life safer and more secure for your family, friends and neighbours and helping to make your community a better place to live.

Key Responsibilities

You will be provided with high-quality, professional training to enable you to deal with the situations that you could come across and in the course of your policing career you will learn new skills, meet new people and have the opportunity to develop and progress; perhaps specialising as a firearms officer, dog handler or a detective.

You will need to be comfortable dealing with a variety of incidents, be a good communicator, a problem solver, team-player and someone who easily builds relationships, respects other people and appreciates views from our communities.
