The Role
We are introducing an exciting new entry route to become a Police Officer for those that have completed their degree in Professional Policing or will complete their degree by June 2022. Successful applicants will will undergo a two-year training programme starting with a number of weeks in initial foundation training, based at our Headquarters near Guildford. You will be paid a full salary of £24,780 per annum plus £2,500 South East Allowance and will not be charged any tuition fees.
Following your foundation training, you will then be posted out on to your division, completing your shifts with local response teams where you will work towards achieving independent patrol status and later, work towards achieving occupational competency within the two year programme. As your Professional Policing degree follows the Police Constable national curriculum your training will be shorter 'on-the-job' training compared to our alternative entry routes.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the role, you will need to:
- Have successfully completed or are in the final year of study for a degree in Professional Policing from a approved College of Policing University. You will be required to evidence your degree on your application. The list of approved Universities can be found here: Approved Universities
- Be aged 17 years or over (on the day you submit your application).
- Have lived in the UK for three continuous years, immediately prior to application.
- Have leave to enter or leave to remain and work in the UK for an indefinite period.
- Have a full UK manual driving licence (by the time of appointment).
- Not be a member of the British National Party (BNP) or other relevant organisations, such as Combat 18 or The National Front.
- Not have tattoos which could cause offence.
- Not have six or more penalty points on your driving licence.
- Not have served a prison sentence.
