Degree Holder Entry Programme

The Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) is aimed at degree-holders who have attained a degree in any subject area 

A two-year training programme, you will be employed as an officer from day one, gaining valuable experience of the role alongside studying towards a Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice. Study will be a mix of on and off the job and you will be awarded your Graduate Diploma at the end of the two year programme and with completion of your probation period. You will be paid a full salary of £24,780 per annum plus £2,500 South East Allowance and will not be charged any tuition fees.

Eligibility

To apply for the DHEP, you will need to:

  • be aged 17 years or over (on the day you submit your application.) You'll need to be aged 18 before you can join us.
  • have a current full UK manual driving license (by the time of appointment)
  • should have successfully completed, and be able to evidence, a UK undergraduate degree in any subject (360 credits), or overseas equivalent as recognised by UK NARIC. Applicants with non – UK degrees may need to provide evidence of an acceptable English language qualification if their degree was not taught and assessed in English.
  • have leave to enter or leave to remain in the UK for an indefinite period
  • Have lived in the UK for three continuous years, immediately prior to application
  • not be a current or previous member of a proscribed terrorist group or organisation
  • not have tattoos which could cause offence
  • not have 6 penalty points or more on your driving licence
  • Not have served a prison sentence
