The Role

The Police & Crime Training Team (PACT) are looking for a PIP2 Investigations Staff Trainer to join our Investigations Training Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and support the development of a capable, modern-day workforce by delivering blended, innovative methods of training across the PIP2 (serious and complex) curriculum in line with College of Policing principles to a broad range officers and staff working within Public Protection and Criminal Investigations Departments.

You will also provide a lead role in the development and delivery of Detective entry route programmes as part of the Policing Education Qualification Framework (PEQF). Specifically, the development of the Degree Holder Entry Programme.

Applicants will be joining a creative and supportive department based at Surrey HQ, where you’ll be working weekday hours and will have flexibility to work from home when not delivering in-person training. We also feel strongly about our trainers CPD and if you don’t already possess a Level 3 training qualification you will be supported and funded in obtaining this.

'One of the really nice things to see as an Investigation Trainer is the difference in learner confidence between the start and finish of a course, and the creativity that comes from getting groups of people together to learn.
Whilst Investigation training is our core function there is also opportunity to create innovative learning materials, make best use of modern learning technologies and partner with key stakeholders to ensure that our programmes deliver quality and capable investigators.
Your personal development is important to the team and since joining, I have had opportunity to seek attachments to specialist departments, gained training qualifications and had opportunities to attend external training events.
I was initially quite apprehensive about becoming a trainer, particularly having to speak in front of people. Those who know me will know I can talk – a lot - but being able to do that in front of a large group was certainly a challenge as well as worrying that I did have enough knowledge or experience, but as it does with those on the course, my confidence has also grown and I would suggest if you have similar concerns that are stopping you from applying then please come and chat to us.’ - Claire, Investigations Trainer

Please note that spinal point placement will be honored for internal G grade applicants.
