Division / Department - People Services Grade - Grade F Status - Full Time Contract Type - Permanent Salary Grade Range - £28,062 - £32,227 Working Hours - 36.0 Hours per Week Shift Allowance - Politically Restricted - The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
As part of the Service Delivery Team, you will be required to assist in the delivery of tactical elements of Workforce Planning. You will take responsibility for ensuring key People Services information is timely, up to date and reflects decisions made by the business.
You will be working closely with the Surrey and Sussex People Services Business Partners and Assistant Business Partners to ensure the Force makes best use of its resources, identify risks and forward plan requirements.
Key areas of corporate recruitment will also need to be forecasted to ensure our recruitment campaigns meet the needs of the workforce and Learning and Development resources can be scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
Key accountabilities include:
• Preparation of establishment and resources information for relevant departments.
• Analyse and interpret data to support the Business Partner function. Highlighting areas for concern / review and outstanding actions.
• In liaison with the SBSC and the Business Partnering function use Oracle (HRMS) based systems to manage data, and ensure that HR systems are updated correctly to reflect promotions and staff/ officer movements.
• Provide second-line support to the Shared Service Centre regarding any specialist workforce planning queries and bulk recruitment.
• Preparation and presentation of accurate promotion mapping, identifying force requirements and managing the outcomes of the process.
• Preparation and upkeep of Staff and Officer resource mapping and projections to support Workforce Planning decisions.
• To reconcile HR establishments against Finance data, ensuring that the HR Data aligns with the budget, highlighting any risk or issues to the appropriate Business Partner.
• To respond to Workforce Planning queries received from Stakeholders and provide advice regarding establishment management and resourcing where required.
• Working with the ERP Team, assisting in elements of data quality and its improvement.
• To assist in Workforce Planning projects as and when necessary.
Skills & Experience
It is essential the post holder has:
• The ability to be flexible, adaptable to change, and have a keen eye for detail.
• Experience in dealing with situations / deviations from normal routine and the ability to problem solve and provide suggested resolutions quickly and effectively in order to mitigate risks or maximise opportunities.
• Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce concise, clear and accurate reports and records.
• Excellent planning and organisiation skills and a proven ability to work under pressure, dealing with conflicting demands in order to meet agreed deadlines.
• The ability to collate and clearly present resourcing data within Microsoft Excel when requested ad hoc by colleagues within Service Delivery.
• Effective communication as the role requires you to work closely with all People Service teams, and wider stakeholder communities i.e. Local SMT teams.
• The ability to take ownership of assigned Workforce Planning projects and activity, using own judgement in regards to decision making or escalating issues/risks where required.
• IT literate with experience of Microsoft office applications.
It is desirable the post holder has:
• Experience of using Oracle based HR systems.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
This role is not exclusive to those with an HR background
