Division / Department - People Services Grade - Grade D Status - Full Time and Part Time Available Contract Type - Fixed Term Contract Salary Grade Range - £24,075 - £27,303 Working Hours - 36.0 Hours per Week Shift Allowance - Politically Restricted - The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
We are looking for staff with an interest in HR who would like to gain experience in this area of the business. This role involves dealing with a wide range of queries and covering all aspects of the employee life cycle. You will be involved in a diverse range of tasks and be an integral member of the Shared Business Services HR Desk, providing expert HR advice and guidance on policy and procedure. This is great experience if you are looking to gain a thorough grounding in HR.
Key Responsibilities
No two days are the same on the HR Desk. It is a fast-paced environment where you are responsible for answering questions and proactively offering further advice to solve problems and help the front line to serve the public. If you can work as part of a team, provide excellent customer service with great communication skills, then this is the role for you.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the role you will need:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Enjoy working as part of a busy team
- Be well-organised and able to manage your own workload
- Be proactive in identifying, resolving and escalating issues
- Be adaptable and be committed to delivering excellent customer service
- Some HR knowledge would be preferred but is not essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- Administration experience
- A good level of literacy and numeracy
- The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
Previous experience and competencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc. is essential.
