Degree Holder Entry Programme
The Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) is aimed at degree-holders who have attained a degree in any subject area and will be launching in 2020.
A two-year training programme, you will be employed as an officer from day one, gaining valuable experience of the role alongside studying towards a Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice. Study will be a mix of on and off the job and you will be awarded your Graduate Diploma at the end of the two year programme and with completion of your probation period. You will be paid a full salary of £24,780 per annum plus £1,500 South East Allowance and will not be charged any tuition fees.
To apply for the DHEP, you will need to:
• be aged 17 years or over (18 by appointment)
• have successfully completed, and be able to evidence, a UK undergraduate honours degree (360 credits) in any subject. Applicants with non – UK degrees can be considered if their degree is recognised as equivalent by UK NARIC but will need to provide evidence of an acceptable English language qualification if their degree was not taught and assessed in English.
• have leave to enter or leave to remain in the UK for an indefinite period
• have a current full UK manual driving license by the time of appointment
• not be a member of the British National Party (BNP) plus other relevant organisations, such as Combat 18 or The National Front
• not have tattoos which could cause offence
• not have motoring offences
