Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship
The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) is one of the new entry route for Police Constables.
A three-year apprenticeship programme, you will be employed as an officer from day one, gaining valuable experience of the role alongside studying towards a Degree in Professional Policing Practice. Study will be a mix of on and off the job and you will be awarded your degree at the end of the three year programme and with completion of your probation period. You will be paid a full salary of £20,880 per annum plus £1,500 South East Allowance and will not be charged any tuition fees – therefore no need for student loans
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the PCDA, you will need to:
• be aged 18 years or over (on the day you submit your application)
• have achieved a standard of education equivalent to Level 3 or above (https://www.gov.uk/what-different-qualification-levels-mean/list-of-qualification-levels)
• have achieved GCSE grade C - A* / 4 – 9 or Level 2 functional skills in both Maths and English or equivalent education
• have lived in the UK for three continuous years, immediately prior to application
• have leave to enter or leave to remain in the UK for an indefinite period
• have a current full UK manual driving license by the time of appointment
• not be a member of the British National Party (BNP) plus other relevant organisations, such as Combat 18 or The National Front
• not have tattoos which could cause offence
• not have motoring offences
