The Role
E-DISCLOSURE COORDINATION LEAD, NPCC DIGITAL POLICING PORTFOLIO
(Chief Inspector or Police Staff equivalent M3 (£51,051-£60,768), including temporary promotion) + Central Service Allowance £1,260 per annum.
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a police professional, with an extensive background in criminal justice and investigations, to lead on ensuring the coherence and coordination of e-disclosure capability delivery to Policing.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate or identify overlap of planned activities under the National Disclosure Improvement Plan (NDIP) and the National Disclosure Delivery Board (NDDB) with other strategic initiatives.
- Ensure that e-disclosure requirements are captured and addressed consistently across strategic initiatives.
- Harness and propagate best practice with regards to e-disclosure.
- Minimise duplication of effort or investment with e-disclosure related local policing initiatives.
- Coordinate engagement with industry with regards to e-disclosure activities.
- Work closely with senior policing leaders and stakeholders to ensure changing business needs are continually met and reflected in planned activities.
- Input to the development of nationally consistent requirements and supporting technology for redaction.
- Strategic Initiatives: regular engagement with the strategic initiatives, the above redaction work, and any relevant subsequently identified strategic initiatives.
- Local Policing: regular engagement and communication with police forces nationwide providing updates on e-disclosure related deliverables from the strategic initiatives, identify potential quick wins / interim solutions, identify any emerging e-disclosure gaps.
- National Disclosure Forum and NDDB: provision of regular updates to maintain senior stakeholders’ awareness of delivery, timescales, and issues as they arise.
Skills & Experience
- A detailed understanding of disclosure and the wider criminal justice system and relevant experience of working with CJS partners. In depth knowledge of the current criminal justice reform landscape is desirable.
- Experience of carrying out disclosure responsibilities in the investigative process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to demonstrate interpersonal skills of persuasion, negotiation and arbitration. Ability to present complex data and information in a concise and straightforward manner.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, produce high quality work and exercise both initiative and discretion. Time management and organisational skills must be outstanding.
- Able to influence behaviour, understand and motivate people to a high degree, by achieving a balance between tact and diplomacy.
- Evidence of strong personal drive, including high levels of resilience and determination and an ability to anticipate and overcome obstacles to deliver results and demonstrate evidence of the ability to make complex judgements and decisions and to challenge current thinking in a fast moving environment.
- Confident use of technology and good grasp of the digital agenda, both in policing and across government.

This post is on secondment until 31st March 2020 (with the possibility of extension) and is based in London although UK travel will be required. A degree of flexible working is also possible. Travel costs will be covered for the period of the secondment.
