The Role
Vacancy Information:
An exciting vacancy has arisen for a full time permanent position as a Duties and Resourcing Planner working within Operations Command based at Surrey Police Headquarters.
The Role:
This is a busy and challenging role, and requires someone who is flexible with the ability to multi-task. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for ensuring resource demands are met for both day-to-day policing activity, and those of significant events and operations across Surrey and Sussex.

Duties and Resourcing Planners are responsible for ensuring both police officers and police staff are where they need to be to meet the policing demands across the Surrey and Sussex Force areas. Working as a member of the Duties and Resourcing Team, you will play a key role in ensuring that resources are provided, not only for day-to-day policing activity, but also for both pre-planned and spontaneous operations.
The post holder will also be expected to manage personnel abstractions and attendances, and provide advice and guidance to internal customers on a range of duties and resourcing enquiries, including those relating to legislation and policy.

To be clearly evidenced in your application and demonstrated in any subsequent interview you will need to possess and demonstrate the skills and abilities set out in the job description for the role including:-
• Sound working knowledge of operational aspects of the police service;
• Excellent planning and organising skills;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Strong communication skills;
• Good level of literacy and numeracy;
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision, as part of a dedicated team.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual that possesses well-developed IT skills, together with excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills. Experience of using the Capita Duties Management System (DMS), or another computerised resourcing system is desirable but not essential.
You must be able to work with minimum supervision, as part of a dedicated team to ensure often challenging deadlines are met.
