The Role & Key Responsibilities
This role is based at Surrey Police Headquarters, Guildford.
Are you an Excel expert? Do you enjoy working with spreadsheets and data? Are you well organised and enjoy using your problem solving and organisational skills at work? If so the role of Duties Administration Officer in our Contact Management could be for you.
In this key role you'll play an essential role in ensuring that we are there when people need us.
As a Duties Administration Officer you will be responsible for ensuring our staffing levels are correct and that we identify any areas of risk quickly. You will be part of a closely knit team that ensure there is sufficient cover to manage demand within the Contact Centre, Force Control Room, Police Counters, CCTV and the Occurrence Management Unit.
In this role you'll use Excel extensively and use your planning and organising skills to good effect.
You need to have the ability to think quickly and work under pressure as you'll often be required to adapt quickly to changing demands.
It's a fast paced and exciting role that offers you the ability to make a difference and be part of our team.
Skills & Experience
You will need to be aware of legislation covering staff working time directives, service aspirations, minimum strength and Health and Safety requirement.
You will need to be able to work alone and as part of a team with minimal supervision and be very organised.
You will need to be able to work under pressure and to service level agreements and be able to identify and highlight risk to senior managers.
You will need to take responsibility and manage the allocation of annual leave and other abstractions such as sickness and training, ensuring that staffing levels are taken into consideration and maintained in line with agreed abstraction levels.
You will need to ensure that the Duty Management Systems, Aspect and departmental duties spread sheets are managed and updated at all times.
To be flexible and to be able to assist at times of critical incidents or adverse weather, and to be able to undertake other duties that are consistent with the job purpose, to contribute and support the wider Contact Management department.
It is essential that you have experience and a good understanding of Microsoft Office, with an extensive understanding of Excel, as this forms the basis of how staffing levels are inputted and managed within this role.
You must have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work using your own initiative.
You must be good at spotting and solving problems and paying attention to detail.
You must be able to work as part of a team, both within the duties environment and the wider Contact Management Command.
Have leave to enter or leave to remain and work in the UK for an indefinite period.
Not be a current or previous member of a proscribed terrorist organisation or group.
Not have served a prison sentence.
Not applied for the role previously within the last 6 months.
