The Role
Surrey Police is seeking applications from engaging and inspiring leaders for the role of Deputy Chief Constable. If you have a strong track record of improving policing for the benefit of communities and a keen interest in what works to prevent crime and disorder, then we’d love to hear from you.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Force, and working collaboratively with partners to ensure Surrey is a County that is safe, and feels safe too. We are investing in a problem solving approach to preventing crime, protecting the most vulnerable people in our communities and pursuing offenders to give justice to victims.
You’ll need to be an exceptional team player with an ability to work collectively with our volunteers, staff, officers, partners and communities. Experience of police collaboration will help further develop our strong partnership with Sussex Police and excellent joint working throughout the South East region.
Bordering London and two major airports, with one of Europe’s busiest strategic road networks, Surrey is a diverse county with a range of policing challenges. There are rural and urban environments, significant wealth and areas of high depravation. We work hard to maintain very high levels of public confidence in policing and low risk of victimisation. We are proud of our innovation and achievements, but know there is much more to do to keep pace with the changing nature of crime and vulnerability. We are looking for an individual who brings diversity of thought and who can identify innovative solutions to engage with all of our communities.
Applications are invited from substantive Deputy Chief Constables/Deputy Assistant Commissioners or Assistant Chief Constables/Commanders who are seeking a substantive position in Surrey Police. Your application should be supported via the NPCC endorsement form.
The role will be based in Guildford, moving to Leatherhead in the coming years, with frequent travel across the county and the region.
