Would you like a fun and flexible volunteering opportunity which allows you to engage with local communities on behalf of Surrey Police?
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals from each of our eleven boroughs to join our Community Events Team who represent Surrey Police at events across the county, particularly in the spring and summer months.

The Role

As a Community Events Team Volunteer you will work as part of a dedicated team to make valuable connections with the public and increase their awareness of Surrey Police. You will offer relevant Force and local-level messages as well as information about the different volunteering opportunities within Surrey Police.

You will be able to choose the amount of commitment to suit your circumstances as community events are held throughout the year, with the spring and summer months being the busiest times.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteering with the Community Events Team across Surrey you will:
• Deliver key Force and local-level messages to members of the public
• Engage with members of the public, including children and young people, through activities such as fingerprinting and trying on police uniform
• Liaise with event organisers
• Help set-up and pack-down the stand and associated equipment

Skills & Experience

Your enthusiasm and commitment will help you to integrate into the team and volunteer alongside others to support community events.

You will need to be able to engage confidently with members of the public and will be required to wear a Police Support Volunteer uniform.

Previous experience of volunteering, community engagement and/or working within police environment would be beneficial, but this is not essential as you will be fully supported by experienced members of the Community Events Team.
