This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst continuing to be two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowance and hours.

The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
This senior management role within DDaT will lead the Commercial Management team and will provide the Head of Client Services with recommendations in relation to the appropriate budget management and planning for all of our contracts and services.
The post-holder should be an expert in contract and supplier management, demonstrable experience of leading service reviews and holding vendors to account. They will play a critical role in the annual business planning cycle and must have demonstrable experience of their involvement in tendering processes - this role is responsible for oversight of any new technology related contracts and services tendering
Key Responsibilities
As the Commercial Services Manager you will develop, implement and maintain the future strategic vendor portfolio and contract management practice and processes on behalf of DDaT.
You will manage supplier relationships holding regular robust and commercially focused reviews to ensure value for money and continuous improvement.
As the lead on contract renewal discussions you will chair regular meetings with senior stakeholders and business leads to provide options for consideration as part of the force level annual planning cycle.
Skills & Experience
The successful postholder should already have significant experience in vendor management and/or commercial and financial management.
You should be experienced in managing service contracts, holding suppliers to account against SLA's, leading regular and robust service reviews with vendors.
In addition, you will also have existing experience of tendering processes and have a current knowledge of commercial markets.
