The Role

Surrey and Sussex Police are inviting strong applications for the challenging and rewarding role of Assistant Chief Constable to join a vibrant and energetic leadership team.

Surrey and Sussex Police are recognised nationally as two progressive forces, with an exceptionally strong partnership and passion for exceptional public service. With a long history, and strong track record of collaboration, Surrey and Sussex Police are working closely together on a whole range of key operational and support functions. We are looking for an ACC who can bring difference to the team, and someone who shares our joint ambition for more preventative and proactive policing.

Both forces value leaders who will constructively challenge and work together for the good of the public in Surrey and Sussex. Operating with integrity, passion and commitment is important as well as demonstrating how you can bring difference and diversity of thinking to the team.

As a result of recent precept uplifts and government investment we are facing exciting opportunities for growth, in parallel with a continuing requirement to make efficiency savings. This is not an easy challenge, but if you’re ready to help lead this transformation, motivate and inspire those around you and bring a different perspective to our organisation, this could be the job for you.

Sussex and Surrey are beautiful counties to live in, with the benefits of open countryside, wonderful coastline, diverse culture and easy access to the capital city.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Diversity Statement

We are only as good as our people.  It's really important to us that our officers and staff can be themselves in the workplace and we believe that as an organisation we'll benefit from the variety of thinking, approach and skills that diversity can bring; all of which helps us to deliver a better policing service.

We have worked really hard to create a safe, open and inclusive culture.  We have a range of staff networking groups to provide specific support and advice and we are proud to be members of Stonewall and Disability Confident, and to be aligned with the Armed Forces Covenant and the HeForShe movement.

We value the differences that people bring from all backgrounds and communities so, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, disability, social status or religious beliefs, we would love to hear from you.
