The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for someone to join our innovative and highly successful Prevention and Problem Solving Team as an ASB Specialist.
You will be required to effectively prevent and tackle anti-social behaviour using a broad range of interventions including the legal framework. This will include working with both offenders and victims of anti social behaviour.
You will be expected to provide expert enforcement and support service advice to Surrey Police Departments and Partner Agencies specifically to ensure that successful action is taken to disrupt and stop antisocial behaviour in Surrey.
You will be expected to have a high level of victim care and therefore you put the victim at the heart of any response.
You will be required to produce evidential bundles for court applications and attend court to support the legal teams and witnesses giving evidence.
Whilst the team is formally based at Guildford Police Station, you will be required to work across the County at various police stations and therefore agile working is required.
This specific job advert is primarily covering areas of East Surrey but availability and access to transport to travel county wide is essential.
Key Responsibilities
To investigate alleged cases of anti-social behaviour as well as gather and prepare the necessary evidence and supporting material where necessary.
To build, prepare and manage ASB cases papers for court files through active personal involvement and within the set time limits undertaking, as appropriate, necessary tasks associated with file preparation
To manage, monitor and update ASB breaches, updating databases accordingly, providing management information as and when requested.
To efficiently maintain an accurate database of ASB allowing for the active case management and provision of accurate data as and when required.
To work with partner agencies and support a multi agency approach to tackling antisocial behaviour
To represent Surrey Police at agency meetings, providing partner agencies with specialist advice and information
Skills & Experience
It is desirable to have experience in preventing and tackling ASB especially working with offenders and victims.
It is essential to have experience in problem solving to deal with complex issues.
It is essential that you can organise your own schedule, prioritise workloads and work under pressure to meet specific deadlines and performance targets.
It is essential you have the ability to co-operate and work well with colleagues and professionals from a variety of agencies and backgrounds and have an awareness of the differing natures of professional organisations. Therefore an ability to work effectively in partnership with them to achieve common goals is essential.
A full and valid driving licence
