Division / Department - Contact and Control Grade - Grade 7 Status - Full Time Contract Type - Fixed Term Contract Salary Grade Range - £22,677 - £24,552 Working Hours - 37.0 Hours per Week Shift Allowance - Politically Restricted - The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role

To provide effective and efficient Business administration of the SmartSTORM Command & Control system, CLIPS and provide effective and efficient Administration of SmartSTORM ACPO Alarms Maintenance, together with any other applications utilised by Business Systems in support of FCCCD.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

                                             

Respond promptly to requests made by Operational officers to add History Markers to the Command & Control System (SmartSTORM) where members of the public and victims have been identified to be at risk of harm and Officer Safety is maintained , ensuring all information meets the THRIVE criteria/is in line with force policy. This requires a degree of negotiation and decision making with customers as not all requests meet with the criteria to add a marker.

Create and maintain the Force Action Plans (Contingency Plans) within SmartSTORM and Word documents, ensuring they are updated /checked annually by the various departmental owners of each plan.

Liaise with both departmental and divisional staff at a Supervisory level, acting as Force Point of Contact, providing guidance relating to SmartSTORM, in particular the use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Qu

Call Sign Maintenance, Keywords and Problem Orientated Policing (POPs). Configuration of those products within the application.

Monitor and action SmartSTORM IT logs using IT SupportWorks, including system issues and user access requests, liaising with IT colleagues where necessary and engagement with Departmental and Divisional personnel over changes in SmartSTORM as necessary submitted via this means.

Work with the Application & Change Manager to improve SmartSTORM functionality and implement process changes such as the introduction of the SmartSTORM platform, including Smart Call. Assist with testing and development and implementation.

Create and maintain process documents ensuring they are up to date and relevant.

Respond to requests for information and recommend solutions.

 

Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonable required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post.

 

Receive, clarify and enter details of alarm systems from security companies and members of the public onto the alarm database in line with ACPO Security Alarms Policy.

 

Receiving and administering applications for alarms

Liaise with ACPO in matters related to Alarms

Liaising with alarm monitoring stations and attending National meetings on behalf of the Force (if required).

Communicate breaches of ACPO policy in relation to false activations and Warning Letters

Identify and remedy errors within the Alarms maintenance system

Manage Alarm Fees received in accordance with ACPO Security Alarms Policy. Provide the Finance with relevant reports as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrable experience of general administrative and office duties or five GCSE’s Grade C or above including English language or equivalent

 

                            

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

 

Excellent communication, written and oral skills.

 

Knowledge of MS Applications

 

Excellent planning and organising skills.

 

Knowledge of the SmartSTORM Command & Control System

 

Ability to assess information.

 

 

Negotiation and decision making.

 

A customer service focused approach to dealing with enquiries.

 

 

A good knowledge of or the ability to quickly assimilate a working knowledge of the 2018 NPCC Security Systems Requirements.
