About the role
We are looking for a Sourcing Team Leader (Band 3) to join the Morgan Stanley account to ensure the performance and delivery of the sourcing team is optimized and achieves against agreed sourcing performance metrics. This role will work UK hours.
As a Sourcing Team Leader, you will be the focus on the operational delivery of your team, compliance, productivity and people management. You will act as a point of escalation and resolution for any challenges in the delivery of Morgan Stanley's sourcing strategy and will be accountable internally for the effective management of all Sourcers. The Sourcing Team Leader will work alongside the Client Services team and Sourcing Manager to articulate the sourcing value proposition to the client and may be required to provide sourcing support alongside their team should capacity or delivery challenges arise.
Accountabilities
- Drives sourcing performance against internal sourcing performance metrics and client SLA’s to ensure delivery across all areas including source mix, time to shortlist and other areas of operational excellence
- Works alongside Sourcing Manager to define sourcing metrics and cascade clearly to all Sourcers, ensuring regular performance conversations and corrective action to support areas of under performance
- Contribute to reviews of sourcing performance and outcomes internally at AMS and with client stakeholders as required. Represent your team at evaluation and review sessions with Sourcing Manager and Regional Sourcing Lead
- Develop deep understanding of sourcing value proposition as it relates to each client in the portfolio and act as a custodian of the clients EVP, ensuring Sourcers act as Brand Ambassadors for the client in the market
- Coach and develop Sourcers to ensure quality recruitment conversations throughout the end to end process with a focus on acting as a Trusted Advisor to Recruiters, Clients and Candidates
- Develop market knowledge as it relates to sourcing, industry expertise, recruitment best practice and tools / technology that may optimize or enhance sourcing delivery
- Interpret resourcing plans and demand forecasts. Work with Client Services teams / Attraction to direct resource requirements, attraction strategies and talent pool activity to adopt a proactive approach to delivery if possible. Identify gaps in talent pool / resource / attraction
- Identify obstacles to success within sourcing function e.g. gaps in Sourcers capability, communication etc. and ensure early warning discussions and plans to address are communicated with appropriate stakeholders. Acts as an owner of all delivery issues within sourcing team.
- Perform QA on sourcing outputs to ensure quality of CV’s submitted, screening sheets and Sourcers use of data and insight to elevate conversations with Hiring Managers and Recruiters. Collaborate with Client Services team on the iterative process of narrowing down high-quality candidate shortlists through timely feedback and review discussions. Jointly review the shortlist with the hiring manager.
- Accurate completion and submission of all required reporting including capacity, KPI and performance metrics
- Manage sourcing capacity and allocation to ensure adequate resource coverage across all client accounts
- Responsible for team objective setting, performance management, development and succession planning
- Prepare quarterly talent reviews to discuss team performance, successes and opportunities for improvement with Sourcing Management and Regional Sourcing Lead
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience of leading a high performing sourcing team across one or more client accounts
- Deep subject matter and sourcing expertise in at least one client sector, ideally financial services
- Proven ability as a people manager with experience of inspiring and motivating a team, developing high performers and addressing performance issues in sourcing
- Ability to influence both directly and indirectly within complex client environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and empower direct reports and key stakeholders
- Solid business acumen with the ability to identify, address and resolve important issues as well as existing or potential risks or barriers to success
- Experience of leading recruiting discussions with client stakeholders including briefing calls, shortlist reviews, sourcing strategy overviews and updates etc.
- Experience of driving talent pooling activities, including the use of a dedicated CRM system such as Avature, Phenom People etc
- Experience of sourcing for complex or niche skillsets in at least one client sector
- Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Capable of providing constructive feedback to peers, management and direct reports
Desirable:
- Experience of managing more than one client portfolio concurrently
- Subject matter expertise in multi-disciplinary recruiting and sourcing
- Hands on knowledge of sourcing tools and technologies such as Pocket Recruiter, Seek Out and other core channels
