The role;

We are currently recruiting a Business Intelligence Specialist to join our organization to support our clients in delivering business intelligence, reporting and analytics projects to clients. The Business Intelligence Specialist is primarily responsible for extracting, transforming, and visualizing data from various databases to provide daily, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting for operational and strategic stakeholder initiatives.

As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will be analyzing, extracting, aggregating and transforming datasets based on business rules to deliver meaningful information to our customers. In addition, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining an existing suite of reports as well as working with our customers to develop further reporting based on business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Operational Focus

  • You will be responsible for the enhancement, development, maintenance, and delivery of reports and analyses
  • Work with teammates to Identify and implement agile reporting solutions when tools and data may be limited
  • Proactively seek to automate and improve internal BI processes and leverage reporting to increase the efficiency of the overall recruitment process
  • Work with users to identify opportunities for automating and consolidating reports into user-friendly, self-service dashboards
  • You will regularly work with teammates to continuously seek ways of improving consistent and efficient calculations and measures
  • Work with Performance Manager to monitor data quality and identify key data integrity issues
  • Develop practical data validation methods that improve the overall quality of the data
  • Develop a thorough comprehension of the end-to-end recruitment process and understand how these processes translate into our systems and reports
  • You will regularly work with our client configuration team to continuously enhance system efficiency and improve the overall experience for our users

 

Customer Focus

  • You will regularly work with clients to understand the needs of the business and develop reports based on these business needs
  • Regularly analyze datasets in order to provide insight to our customers for financial and operational opportunities based on analytical findings
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the data and processes in order to translate and articulate meaningful information to our customers
  • When working with customers, you should be able to provide solutions for the feasibility of implementing complex reporting requests and set realistic deadlines and expectations to customers
  • Develop a detailed understanding of our business processes, and be able to translate this understanding into technical specifications
  • Work with management teams to understand the client’s business areas and key customers
  • You will proactively communicate with internal and external customers to identify opportunities for improving our service and processes

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years developing reports, and analyses (Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar)
  • 3 + years using Excel to aggregate large datasets utilizing complex formulas and pivoting (Index, Match, Arrays, Small, Compound IFs, Macros)
  • 1+ years of experience with VBA programming
  • 1+ years of experience with Power Query
  • 1+ years of experience with data querying (MS SQL, Oracle SQL, OBIEE, Business Objects, or similar)
  • 1+ years of experience working with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Demonstrable experience working with relational databases
  • Experience working in an HR environment
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems (Taleo, or similar)
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Experience working in a consulting environment
