The Role
The Business Analyst (Business Intelligence) role sits within the AMS Business Intelligence ‘Data Lab’ Technology team, working closely with stakeholders to understand and shape their reporting requirements and design, specify and validate reporting solutions to final delivery. The Business Analyst (Business Intelligence) as part of the ‘Data Lab’ will work closely with Azure SQL Database Developers and Power BI Developers creating, developing and maintaining a wide range of client and internal AMS solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Engaging, building and managing relationships with projects’ stakeholders,
- Understand current business processes, systems/technology, reporting and data points,
- Elicit, analyze and document business requirements,
- Interpret and question requirements, challenge existing solutions and propose innovations where available,
- Document technical specifications for proposed solutions,
- Analyzing the impact of solutions to business continuity rules and project delivery,
- Diagnosing data quality issues,
- Validating business requirements against real data,
- Supporting the UAT process if necessary,
- Mediating between business representatives and technology team (SQL developers),
- Drive and support delivery (build, UAT) and implementations of reporting solutions so that they are aligned to business needs, technological capabilities and timelines.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Business Analysis experience,
- Experience in Business intelligence data, reporting and analytics,
- Excellent documentation/technical specification skills,
- Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills,
- Strong stakeholder management experience across all levels,
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work as part of a team to deliver outcomes within specific timeframe,
- A history of working on successful projects to delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience of technical database requirements and working with SQL developers,
- Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and SQL,
- A good understanding of the end to end recruitment process for both permanent and contract recruitment.
